Welcome
to jesusteachings.net, the purpose of this website is to spread the teachings
of Jesus. Jesus’ teachings are very
simple and straight forward; please click the links on the right, to read
what Jesus actually taught about these topics. This site is being built as I
go, so please check back as I will be adding pages regularly. I do not
promote any religious organization; rather I am trying to offer the words of
Jesus, in the hopes that some may find the truth in his words. Please don’t
be shocked if you find that these teachings are not what we have been
taught. My goal is that people will
simply search for the truth for themselves.
Sincerely
Rob & Kim Baker
“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my
words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall
judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father
which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should
speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I
speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak”. John 12:48-50
We are saved,
only by following all the commands of Jesus.
Then
said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye
continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the
truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:31-32
Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a
man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
John 8:51
As the Father hath loved me, so have I
loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide
in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his
love. John 15:9-10
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth
them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my
Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:21
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings
of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his
house upon a rock: And the rain
descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house;
and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of
mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built
his house upon the sand: And the rain
descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house;
and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Matthew
7:24-27
We can not sin.
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily,
I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house
for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If
the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John
8:34-36
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to
lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it
out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy
members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into
hell. And if thy right hand offend
thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that
one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast
into hell. Matthew 5:28-30
Take
heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of
light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the
bright shining of a candle doth give thee light. Luke 11:35-36
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your
Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Matthew 5:38
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing
come unto thee.
John 5:14
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I
am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but
shall have the light of life.
John 8:11-12
We must proclaim the Gospel to the World.
What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and
what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. And fear not them which kill the body, but
are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy
both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:27-28
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words
in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be
ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. Mark 8:38
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I
confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him
will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 10:32-33
Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid
them farewell, which are at home at my house.
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough,
and looking back, is fit for the kingdom
of God. Luke 9:60-62
We must deny ourselves of our personal
goals to follow Jesus.
And Jesus answered him, The
first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one
Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy
God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and
with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou
shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater
than these. Mark 12:29-31
So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all
that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it
be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but
men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Luke 14:33-35
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth
and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in
heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break
through nor steal: For where your treasure
is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:19-21
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the
one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the
other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall
eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is
not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow
not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father
feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one
cubit unto his stature? And why take
ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they
toil not, neither do they spin: And
yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like
one of these. Wherefore, if God so
clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into
the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What
shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be
clothed? (For after all these things
do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all
these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all
these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:24-33
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat
which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto
you: for him hath God the Father sealed. John 6:27
And when he had called the
people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross, and follow me. For
whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life
for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall
gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:34-36
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a
field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth
and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a
merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all
that he had, and bought it.
Matthew 13:44-46
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be
perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt
have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying,
he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily
I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of
heaven. And again I say unto you, It
is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man
to enter into the kingdom
of God. Matthew 19:21-24
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or
sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's
sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Matthew 19:29
And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as
hear the word, And the cares of this world,
and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in,
choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the
word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and
some an hundred. And he said unto
them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not
to be set on a candlestick?
Mark 4:18-21
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall
into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth
much fruit. He that loveth his life
shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto
life eternal. John 12:24-25
If ye were of the world, the world would
love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out
of the world, therefore the world hateth you. John 15:19
And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye
shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you,
and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you,
and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy:
for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their
fathers unto the prophets. But woe
unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall
hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well
of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. Luke 6:20
Our calling is to spread the Gospel.
He that is not with me is against me: and
he that gathereth not with me scattereth. Luke 11:23
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is
plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth
labourers into his harvest.
Matthew 9:37-38
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh
harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields;
for they are white already to harvest.
And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life
eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice
together. And herein is that saying
true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men
laboured, and ye are entered into their labours. John 4:35-38
Labour not for the meat which perisheth,
but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man
shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. John 6:27
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly
shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which
they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet
given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) John 7:38-39
We must be “as Christ”.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than
these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and
lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:29
And he spake a parable unto them, Can
the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? The disciple is not above his master: but
every one that is perfect shall be as his master. Luke 6:39
When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they
that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Mark 2:17
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed
me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the
brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight
to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the
acceptable year of the Lord.
Luke 4:18-19
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one
another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my
disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have
loved you. Greater love hath no man
than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I
command you. John 15:12-14
